Per , Klopp remains committed to taking a year out of the game following his Liverpool exit. The German had been touted as a potential contender to replace Southgate, who stepped down after the Three Lions' Euro 2024 final defeat, but the FA will have to look elsewhere.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Klopp had spent nine years at Anfield before announcing he would be leaving in the summer midway through last season. After such a lengthy spell in the dugout, it makes sense that he would prefer to take some time away from the game. The FA are said to be interested in appointing Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and have also been linked with Eddie Howe and Graham Potter.
