ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
The Blues have already made several high-profile signings over the summer, bringing in Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen and Marc Guiu among others over the course of the window. Their long list of arrivals has left Maresca with a bloated squad consisting of 43 players.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Despite the large squad already at his disposal, the London club continue to be linked with other signings, including Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix. While Maresca refused to address the links to those two, he wants the club to bring in more fresh faces before the window closes in two weeks.

WHAT MARESCA SAID
"They are not our players so it is not correct, I think, to talk about a Napoli player or – who is the other one? – an Atlético Madrid player," he told reporters. "In this moment, the club knows exactly what I think in terms of what we need in case we do something and hopefully before we finish the transfer window, we can bring in some players."

DID YOU KNOW?
Chelsea are still aiming to offload some players, with Conor Gallagher expected to complete a move to Atletico, while Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja and Ben Chilwell could reportedly leave the club as well.
Asked about possible departures, Maresca said: "I just finished the session now and I am already thinking about tomorrow's session. It is the only thing I like to do, I like to control, If you start thinking about 43 players, 'manager [has] no time,' I think it is not worth it. The [sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart] are there trying to find solutions for these kinds of players. I am not the guy in charge of finding solution for these players otherwise they have to pay me double."
